Don’t get discouraged!!

Discouragement is a weapon of our enemy satan designed to rob us of our victory.  It tears away at our confidence and causes us to shrink back and give up.  We need to resist and rebuke discouragement.  Discouragement is designed to make us give up and quit.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT
16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

We need to remember that things that are seen are temporary and things that are unseen are eternal. It may look like in the natural that we are down for the count but that won’t last long because Gods Word says that we always triumph in Christ Jesus.  Gods word NEVER fails and God is faithful to fulfill his word.  Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will win!!

  1. Just what I needed to read! I committed to be a part of my church team to run in a half marathon and we begin training in two weeks! God is good and I am so grateful knowing you and your personal words of wisdom! xoxo

  2. Absolutely;
    Thigs of this world will ultimately, and always, wither away just like dust in the wind. However, things of the spirit remain forever andwill grow for eternity, but only if you and I allow them to be so. And, discouragement is the surest way to give up on this eternal beauty and source of energy that God has given us freely as a gift. This is why the Devil, who is Hod’sreatest challenger and enemy attacks us using discouragement. For the devil knows that a discouraged person is one which he [the devil] has won over to his side. In short, discouragement is equivalent to turn away from God and unto the devil.
    So next time you get discouraged, stand back, take a deep breath, and remind yourself of these words.
