It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if we do, for alcohol is a subtle foe. We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.   Alcoholics Anonymous pg 85

For simpletons turn away from me—to death.  Fools are destroyed by their own complacency. But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”  Proverbs 1:32-33 NLT

Father God, I thank you that your mercies are new everyday and today is a new day to seek after your will and plan for my life.  I pray, Father, that I will resist the temptation to become complacent and rest on my laurels.  For your word says that my complacency can destroy my life.   I pray that as I listen to you I will live in peace and be untroubled by fear of harm.  I ask you for knowledge and wisdom to carry out your plan today.   In Jesus Name, Amen.

  1. I also pray Father God that you continue filling me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can always feel your presence around me and know that I am loved and protected from the evil things this world has to offer. I pray this in Jesus’ Precious Name. Amen!
