We were Reborn!

Established on such a footing we became less and less interested in ourselves, our own little plans and designs. More and more we became interested in seeing what we could contribute to life. As we felt new power flow in, as we enjoyed peace of mind, as we discovered we could face life successfully, as we became conscious of His presence, we began to lose our fear of today, tomorrow or the hereafter. We were reborn.  Alcoholics Anonymous pg 63

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn! This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan–this rebirth comes from God.  John 1:12-13  NLT

I thank you Father for the miracle of being born again.  I thank you that when I accepted Jesus into my heart that you gave me a new reborn and recreated spirit. I thank you that I have no more fear of the hereafter as I am assured that heaven is my home. In Jesus Name, Amen.

      • I serendiitously “stumbled” onto your blog this morning. Ha! It’s awesome-

I just started correlating scripture with the Big Book.

God’s like, “Oh ya, I already had someone do that work; here it is- now use it, because I got something else for you to do over hear.” Dang it! Back to carrying big boxes of literature and making coffee. 😉

This whole scripture to the Big Book thing- Sheesh! Piece of cake. I don’t know how long it took you, but I’m done.

  1. I’m so glad that God led you here! What a blessing! I have actually compiled a 171 day meditation book with all of these scriptures and I give it away free to anyone who wants one. I contacted GSO in New York about getting their permission to use the Big Book passages and they said no because it constituted 1/3 of the work. I put it away for about a year and a half and then during my prayer time the Lord spoke to me and told me to print them myself and give them away…….so that’s what I’m doing. Email me your address and I’d be glad to send you one. COutman@aol.com

  2. I have just found your site this morning, Praise The Lord. I am an A A historian and i have studied where we came from. Bill took a lot of guidance from the Rev Sam Shoemaker, look this man up, [ if there is anyone who is not aware of him, i am sure many are ] A lot of the ideas came the book of James, The Sermon On The Mount and 1 Corinthians 13. Look up Dick B. It took me a bit of time to understand all this, but it is all there in our history books. I very nearly took my own life as a dry drunk, i was over 7 years stark raving sober with no 12 steps and no God in my life, so believe me i have my own experience. But it is a very different story today, having had good sponsorship taking the 12 steps and then doing the Tornado work, [ Mark Houston ]. I am doing another Tornado with 11 other friends in August. And yes, i am Reborn.
    God Bless you all

  3. Thank you for your comments! Praise God! This program was taken directly from the Bible and it took me a long time to come to that revelation as well. i don’t know why we have to be so stubborn some times…lol… I have many books by Dick B and also his book on Shoemaker. I really believe that the reason we aren’t having the recovery rates like they did is because most of AA wants to keep God out. My husband and I have been sober 28 years and we will continue to share God as He truly is in the AA meetings we attend! So glad you found my blog… haven’t been on in awhile. I pray that God will continue to bless you and use you to speak His truths!!

  4. Thanks for your message. I spent 20 yrs sober but not saved in AA. I was called by Christ through a crisis with my daughter and was baptized in 2009. I felt conflicted in AA but came to realize the Biblical Christian roots. I found the book “Good Book and The Big Book” by DickB, who has become a great friend. I was inspired to write Archbuilders which is a 16 page illustrated journey through the imagery in the Big Book of building the spiritual arch to freedom. The the book reveals that AA principles are Christs teachings and the Biblicsl roots of the AA fellowship . I then correlated hundreds of AA phrases quotes slogans etc…. to scripture in a 50 page appendix . It is an awesome way to reveal the Truth, The Way to people seeking recovery from addiction. My ministry is to share my testimony of discovering the real ” one who has all power” the “HigherPower” of the AA founders, One referred to in the BB ” we are restored and united under one God, with hearts and minds attuned to the welfare of others” BB page 91. I would love to visit with you any anyone that has an interest and passion helping people in recovery FOBF Christ. I entered my email and website. Here is my cell 520-444-7997. Hope to hear soon . God bless…..
