Stop Crying and Get Moving!

We all have times in our life when we are tempted to just sit down and cry and let our circumstances overwhelm us.  Often times we let discouragement and fear get us into a position where we are paralyzed to do anything but sit and moan.

I think about how Moses must have felt when he led the people out of Egypt and found himself standing in front of the Red Sea with his enemies closing in on him.  In the natural Moses could see only two options: drown in the sea or be slaughtered by the Egyptians.   Moses was a faithful servant of the Lord and called out to Him for help.

Exodus 14:15-16  And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

Did you see what God said to Moses. God didn’t tell Moses to stand back while God parted the sea. He told Moses to stop crying, tell the people to move forward and lift up his rod and divide the sea.  Too many times we cry for God to do something in our lives when God is saying…Why are you crying?  Pick up what I’ve given you and use it.  God didn’t part the waters for Moses.  He told Moses to stop crying and do it.

As Christians, God has given us everything we need to live a life of victory.  What is your Red Sea?  What insurmountable problem are you facing?  God is saying pick up what I’ve given you and use it.  God has given us His Word and His Son.  Stand in your redemption.  Stand on God’s promises.  Raise your hands and speak His Word and dare to believe for better things.  God will always stand by His Word to perform it.  Believe.  Moses did and he saw the waters part.  What will you see?
