We realized that the people who wronged us were perhaps spiritually sick. Though we did not like their symptoms and the way these disturbed us, they, like ourselves, were sick too. We asked God to help us show them the same tolerance, pity, and patience that we would cheerfully grant a sick friend. When a person offended we said to ourselves, “This is a sick man. How can I be helpful to him? God save me from being angry. Thy will be done.” Alcoholics Anonymous pg 66-67
Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. You must make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:12-13 NLT
Father I thank you for your forgiveness. Help me to make allowance for others faults and forgive them as you have forgiven me. Help me to clothe myself with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Show me how to be helpful to people today. In Jesus Name, Amen.
